Lenvatinib is the active ingredient in a medicine sold commercially as Lenvima that is indicated for the treatment of thyroid or renal cancer.

Levantinib Indications
For the treatment of thyroid cancer that can not be treated with radioactive iodine and in case of renal cancer, according to the guidance of the oncologist.
How to use Levantinib
- For thyroid cancer:
It is recommended to take 24 md of Lenvima per day, divided into 2 capsules of 10 mg + 1 4 mg capsule at a time, with or without food, always at the same time every day.
- For kidney cancer:
It is recommended to take 18mg per day, 1 capsule of 10mg + 2 capsules of 4mg and also 5mg of everolimus.
In both cases it is recommended to take the medicine capsules at the same time each day. If you forget to take it on time and you have not had 12 hours, take the missed medicine and the next dose at the usual time, but if you have forgotten for more than 12 hours, skip that dose and take the next dose only on time right.
Preferably you should swallow whole capsules but if this is not possible, you can open each capsule and mix its contents with only 1 or 2 tablespoons of water or apple juice and allow to dilute for 3 minutes and take the following mixture .
Side effects of Levantinib
This medication can cause hypertension, fatigue, decreased appetite, muscle and joint pain, motion sickness, headache, vomiting, proteinuria, abdominal pain, voice changes, canker sores, cough, heart changes, arterial thrombosis, diarrhea, renal failure, hypocalcemia, hemorrhage and thyroid dysfunction.
Contraindications of Levantinib
Lenvima is not indicated for use in children and adolescents because it is not known whether it is safe at these ages.
