- Drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day, which can be consumed still in the form of soups or juices. For those who have difficulty drinking water, a good tip is to drink tea or put a slice of lemon or orange in a jar of water and drink slowly.
- Another important tip is to do some kind of physical activity, but due to the weight of the belly, the most indicated are the muscle stretching exercises and the light walks.

Symptoms of constipation in pregnancy arise because during pregnancy, the uterus presses on the intestine; in addition, pregnancy hormones make the transit of food into the bowel slower. The most common symptoms of constipation during pregnancy are:

- Abdominal rigidity,
- Swelling,
- Abdominal discomfort.
Constipation in pregnancy can also be treated with the ingestion of laxative medications or suppositories that should only be taken with a prescription.
