In these cases, using another contraceptive method within 7 days of forgetting, such as a condom, is important.
Cerazette is a continuous oral contraceptive, which uses desogestrel as its active substance and is used to prevent pregnancy, especially during the period when the woman is breastfeeding, since the components of this pill do not influence production or quality of breast milk, unlike most contraceptives. Oblivion up to 12 hours in any week
In any week, if the delay is up to 12 hours from the usual time, you should take the forgotten tablet as soon as you remember and take the next tablets at the usual time.
In these cases, the contraceptive effect of the pill is maintained and there is no risk of getting pregnant.
Oblivion for more than 12 hours in any week
If the forgetfulness is more than 12 hours from the usual time, the contraceptive protection of Cerazette can be reduced and, therefore, it is due to:
- Take the missed pill as soon as you remember, even if you have to take two pills on the same day;
- Take the following tablets at the usual time;
- Use another method of contraception as a condom for the next 7 days.
If the tablets have been forgotten in the first week and intimate contact occurred in the week before forgetting the tablets, there is a greater chance of pregnancy and therefore the doctor should be consulted.
Forgetfulness of more than 1 tablet
If you forget to take more than one tablet in the same package, it is important to consult your doctor because the more tablets you take, the less contraceptive effect of Cerazette.
